Description
The Art Society of India had organized a plein air painting tour at Devrukh, Sangameshwar and Ratnagiri – all on the Western Ghats of India. A few artists including me, participated in this tour.
Devrukh in the Konkan region is a quiet town with lush greenery, clean air and cool, pleasant mornings and evenings in February.
Ganesh temple is a prominent landmark in Devrukh. The temple also houses a Veda Pathashala - a school where Vedas are taught. Vedas are a large body of religious texts or scriptures in Sanskrit, originating in ancient India.
This is the backside view of the temple.
