Artist's Description
This is one of the arches at the Qutub complex, Delhi. Qutub complex is an array of old monuments and buildings. The best known structure in the complex is the Qutub Minar, which is the tallest brick minaret in the world. It is one of the earliest examples of Indo- Islamic architecture in India and was built in the 12th century. The entire complex is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The photograph of this arch in the complex has been digitally manipulated using Photoshop CS6.
About Uma Krishnamoorthy
The urge to sketch, draw and paint has been there since childhood and I loved every minute of the time spent on drawing and painting. But, to take up painting as a full time career, was considered nothing short of fiddling on the roof. And maybe, in some sense it is true, particularly when there are practicalities of life to deal with. After two decades of a "real" job as a banker, I decided to quit banking and follow my heart, finally. This time I studied art from the Israeli artist Hagit Shahal, for four years, while I was living in Israel. I have not looked back since. Now I paint full time and I currently live in Mumbai, India.
