Artist's Description

When I was walking down the market street in Mahabaleshwar, India, on a long weekend, it was mostly filled with tourists. There was this roadside vendor of toys who was blowing soap bubbles in the air, more by way of demonstration of the toy, to attract children to his shop. I was trying to photograph the soap bubbles, when two outstretched hands, that of a father's and of his little daughter's, moved into the frame, as if to catch the bubbles. I clicked.

The photograph has been digitally altered using Photoshop CS6.

The urge to sketch, draw and paint has been there since childhood and I loved every minute of the time spent on drawing and painting. But, to take up painting as a full time career, was considered nothing short of fiddling on the roof. And maybe, in some sense it is true, particularly when there are practicalities of life to deal with. After two decades of a "real" job as a banker, I decided to quit banking and follow my heart, finally. This time I studied art from the Israeli artist Hagit Shahal, for four years, while I was living in Israel. I have not looked back since. Now I paint full time and I currently live in Mumbai, India.
