Artist's Description

Unknown woman 16 is a portrait of an imaginary Indian woman.

It has been drawn/painted from scratch on iPad using my fingers and the App Art Rage. Subsequently, it has been minimally retouched using Photoshop .

The urge to sketch, draw and paint has been there since childhood and I loved every minute of the time spent on drawing and painting. But, to take up painting as a full time career, was considered nothing short of fiddling on the roof. And maybe, in some sense it is true, particularly when there are practicalities of life to deal with. After two decades of a "real" job as a banker, I decided to quit banking and follow my heart, finally. This time I studied art from the Israeli artist Hagit Shahal, for four years, while I was living in Israel. I have not looked back since. Now I paint full time and I currently live in Mumbai, India.
