Description
Trimurti is the most important sculpture in Elephanta caves. Elephanta caves near Mumbai contain rock cut stone sculptures dedicated to Lord Shiva. These cave temples are said to have been built between 5th to 8th centuries. The Elephanta Caves have been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Trimurti, also called Maheshmurti, signifies three faces of Shiva and they represent three essential aspects of Shiva: Creation, protection and destruction.
Trimurti is an oil painting on paper, using dry brush technique.
