The Golden Temple, also known as Harmandir Sahib, is a Gurdwara located in the city of Amritsar, Punjab, India. It is the most important pilgrimage site of Sikhism.
The Golden Temple is an open house of worship for all men and women, from all walks of life and faith.
Golden temple series 5, captures the colorful scene at the entrance to the Golden Temple. There is a water basin at the entrance and everyone has to walk through it, in order to have their feet cleaned, before entering the temple.
The urge to sketch, draw and paint has been there since childhood and I loved every minute of the time spent on drawing and painting. But, to take up painting as a full time career, was considered nothing short of fiddling on the roof. And maybe, in some sense it is true, particularly when there are practicalities of life to deal with. After two decades of a "real" job as a banker, I decided to quit banking and follow my heart, finally. This time I studied art from the Israeli artist Hagit Shahal, for four years, while I was living in Israel. I have not looked back since. Now I paint full time and I currently live in Mumbai, India.
